Happy 2011!

I hope your year is off to a great start, even if it is only a few days in. I’ve been crazy-busy this past week, and am ready to take things slightly slower the next week or two just to regain some part of my sanity.

Thought I would update you on how December went with my 50 painting challenge!

The result is a heap of new paintings, and quite a few that just need finishing touch, but the total tally landed at 20. Which really isn’t a failure because that only counts paintings, and I was very successful at infusing creativity into my daily life with photography, drawing, baking, and decorating. Ultimately that was the goal of this whole challenge at the get go, as I needed a serious boost in focusing on being more artistic. I intend to keep this up, and continue to create everyday, whether with photography, baking, drawing, and anything else that falls under the creative umbrella.

Since I just shared with you one of my goals, I thought I would list the rest them here. This is a first for me; as I don’t usually post my goals here.

• Write another guest post
• Attend an art workshop (really hoping for SAW again this year)
• Go on a weekly artist date (a little explanation here)
• Create daily
• Update my Etsy shop weekly
• Sell at an art fair
• Have my art be part of a gallery show
• Read 2 books a month
• Stick to my schedule as much as possible
• And a bit of a dream goal for me: have my art published in a magazine

Not too complicated, and very attainable. I decided on practical goals this year that will help keep things moving onward.
