Falling Flat

Star Hopeful

In order to create my Hopefuls I had to select the thinnest wood I could find, because they needed to be easy to cut, flexible, and light. They are pretty durable once painted, and coated with gel medium.

The exact thickness of the wood is 1/32” thick or 0.7938mm. That is flat!

I compare it to working with art board or a very thick paper, but there is no denying they are pretty flat.

You may be thinking right now why am I going on about how thin, and flat something is. Well honestly it’s how i’ve been feeling lately, flat, like one of my hopefuls. Not a whole lot of substance. Truth is this past month part of the reason for the lack of posting around here, is i’ve been working on me a little. Trying to get out of this flat feeling. I realize a lot of it is dealing with the stress surrounding CJ and the weekly visits for tests and treatments. Been trying to get out with him as much as possible and I also started working out again, and my time just seems to evaporate before my eyes. Although I have to admit i’ve done my fair share of couch surfing as well.

The studio is as dusty, and filled with cobwebs as ever, a neglected friend waiting in the shadows for me to finally start throwing some color around again. Soon friend I promise.

So I’ve just rambled on about what seems like a bunch of nothing, thank you for making it this far down the page. I guess I just wanted to check in here say hi, and thank you for being a part of this journey with me. The ideas are flowing, and soon there will be some fun things to share.

Have a great weekend! Be back Monday with a quote! (the one thing i’ve managed to keep up with)
